Ah, the holidays. Pulling out the decorations, putting up a tree, and making hot cocoa are all some of my favorite activities on a blustery, winter day. Last year, I added my first-ever Christmas quilt, and it is the only Christmas decor that stayed all winter. A good quilt is hard to put away, right? If you haven’t made a holiday quilt, perhaps it is finally time to add to your Christmas decorations with a comfy quilt you can keep warm under. I have put together a few ideas for you.
To start, I chose 10 colors from the Art Gallery Fabrics (AGF) Pure Solids line that matched my idea of a perfect, old-time Christmas. The colors are Empire Yellow, Honey, Raw Gold, Ocean Fog, Pearl, Matcha, Hibiscus, Aurora Red, Evergreen, and Night Sea. AGF is found in many shops, but here are a few of my favorites:
I’ve used these 10 fabrics to create mock-ups of some of my favorite Side Lake Stitch quilt patterns. You can find all the PDF patterns in the shop. Enjoy!

Single Snowflake Quilt Pattern
This last one is the real deal, not just a mock-up. The Single Snowflake quilt pattern was made to celebrate winter. There are several possibilities with this quilt that I have showcased below. The first is a wall hanging in a soft, neutral palette using the multi-color option. This one hangs on my wall year-round and I absolutely love it. The second is the original in a classic red and white. I firmly believe you can’t go wrong with a two-color quilt. Last is the alternate throw. The alternate option is a wonderful way to add multiple colors while still keeping within a two-color theme.
